Growing up near Nashville, Nathan learned the value of service to others and sowed the seeds for a devotion to Dolly Parton.
My family is loud and proud, and if you want your voice to be heard, you really have to speak up! They were extremely concerned with fairness and equity — now an important part of my life and engagement with the communities I am part of.
Who doesn’t love Dolly Parton? She leads with kindness, but she tells it like it is, and she won’t be anyone's punching bag because she will beat you to the punchline.
It’s wonderful to have our talents celebrated by our colleagues — even ones that are not related to the work we do! I was always singing at home and church with my family as a child, and I started singing professionally as a teenager. I sang in studios, on cruise ships, in musicals…and I still enjoy singing at weddings and church events — music brings me so much joy and is a vital part of my life.
I grew up just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, in a very friendly and social atmosphere. Southern hospitality is a celebrated virtue down there! I learned to be a connector of people through my school, church and community friends. It was also modeled to me to be “in service to others,” which I carry with me in my personal life and daily at work.
My family is loud and proud, and if you want your voice to be heard, you really have to speak up at family gatherings! In my work life, I have found that speaking up — when you do so with integrity, authenticity and good intentions — is encouraged.
It is truly a group of bright, fun, generous, charismatic and hard-working individuals — folks who bring their best to work and support each other in every way they can. The desire to be the best at what we do is a shared value across the team and is wonderfully contagious.
If you could have a lifetime of free access to a product or experience from one of our past or present brands, what would it be?
A lifetime supply of Sun Bum would not go to waste on me! I love to be outdoors, so I always slather on the sunscreen. And I love using a brand that I know is trying to do better when it comes to safe ingredients and packaging.
Ha! My husband recently told me that my signature scent is Sun Bum, and that subtle tropical aroma really sparks joy for me.
